QlikView Helps Schneider Save Up to Four Days Per Month in Reporting Time

RADNOR, Pa. --(Business Wire)--

Qlik® (NASDAQ: QLIK), a leader in data discovery, today announced that the Polish subsidiary of Schneider Electric (News - Alert) is using QlikView® to shorten reporting time from days to hours.

Schneider Electric is a leader in the field of energy and infrastructure, industrial processes, building automation systems and data centers, and also has a strong presence and a wide range of housing offerings. It provides customers in more than 100 countries integrated solutions for a wide variety of market segments.

Prior to QlikView, Schneider Electric relied on Lotus Notes, SAP (News - Alert), and Excel files to store their data and generated statistics from a web server. With multiple platforms being used across the organization, data sources were disordered and employees spent an extensive amount of time processing and extracting data, often counted in days.

"Four years ago when I took over the position at Schneider, we found that reporting in some areas was taking too long. Individual departments struggled to obtain straight-forward information such as performance figures," said Arkadiusz Kowalczyk, Director of IT at Schneider Electric. "The time savings achieved with QlikView gave us the equivalent of fur more days each month. I highly recommend QlikView for any large company looking for a reporting tool."

When evaluating new technologies, Schneider Electric had two key areas of focus; they wanted a tool that would not require them to make changes to their existing ERP system and the wanted to try out a tool without making significant investments upfront. With QlikView Personal Edition they were able to test out QlikView for free and had the ability to pull data from any source. They started a pilot project with consultants from Hogart Business and within three days they had created several applications that presented the key performance indicators for the Help Desk in several European countries. The new applications not only benefited the employees of the Polish branch, but those in the entire region of Central and Eastern Europe.

"The ability to start an implementation without having to buy a license, plus the fact that the first project milestone was achieved after only three days, was remarkable," said Przemyslaw Zukowski, Account Manager at Hogart Business Intelligence. "Schneider Electric's success in the pilot project for the Help Desk application allowed for the rapid expansion of QlikView in other areas of the business."

QlikView has been implemented in Schneider Electrics' Center for Financial Shared Services, their Finance Shared Services department in Europe and Middle East Asia and in the Schneider Finance Shared Services Center (FiSS). With prior training from Hogart, employees were able to deploy their own solutions for monitoring applications and measuring key performance indicators. Additional licenses have been purchased for the sales department and the Polish QlikView Server now supports more than 500 users in Poland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

"The Schneider Electric implementation shows the true power of QlikView. After just three days they were able to save substantial amounts of time through automated reporting and enabled self-service data analytics to help business users better perform their day-to-day jobs," said Marcin Mazur, Regional Director for Eastern Europe, Greece and Israel at Qlik. "They have made improvements in financial performance and love the intuitive and flexible design of the solution. The positive impact QlikView has had on the business is best reflected by the extension of the platform to other countries in the organization."

Schneider Electric is already planning new QlikView projects including a mobile application program and new custom ideas for using the platform.
