Tribogenics Hires Andreas Kotowski to Help Provide the World With Affordable X-Ray Technology

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 09/16/14 -- Tribogenics, Inc., developer of next generation X-ray solutions, announced today that 30-year industry veteran Andreas "Andy" Kotowski will join the Tribogenics team as Sr. Vice President of Engineering. In his new role, Kotowski will lead development of Tribogenics' new portable and affordable X-ray technology, which promises to bring much-needed medical X-ray and CT imaging to underdeveloped regions around the world.

"I'm excited to be joining Tribogenics to develop more mobile and affordable X-ray systems. A compact inexpensive X-ray source not requiring a high voltage power supply opens up a lot of possibilities for innovative products," said Kotowski. "Making X-ray imaging accessible to more people is important to me and I look forward to contributing towards our global effort to benefit humanity."  "Half the human population has little or no access to X-rays, one of the most important tools in medicine and in industry," said Dale Fox, CEO and Co-founder of Tribogenics. "With Andy's experience, leadership and insights, we will break this inequality and provide the world with affordable and portable X-ray technology wherever it's needed." With a Master's degree from Stanford University in Electrical Engineering specializing in Computer Engineering as well as a dual Bachelor's degree in Physics and Electrical Engineering, Kotowski has built off of his academic pedigree and has gone on to develop the world's fastest CT scanner, operating 10x faster than previous systems. In addition, Kotowski holds 10+ patents in X-ray imaging and inspection systems.

Tribogenics has also recently hired Sr. Scientist Tim He who is coming from Bruker AXS and Lead Technical Recruiter Leo Plaza, formerly at Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX).
