OnMobile (News - Alert) Global, a provider of Value Added Products and Services for mobile, landline and media service providers, has signed an agreement with the Robi Axiata, a joint venture company between Axiata Group Berhad of Malaysia and NTT (News - Alert) DoCoMo Inc. of Japan, and a provider of telecommunications solutions in Bangladesh.
The deal is to deploy various Interactive Voice Response solutions and RingBack Tones (RBT) on Robi Axiata’s network. According to the OnMobile, the deal was initially signed for five years and the company is hoping to extend the same. Through this partnership, OnMobile is also intending to deploy more features and introduce services like Reverse RingBack Tones among others on Robi’s network.
OnMobile claims to have similar links with all operators in Bangladesh and with this deployment, it claims to be powering more than 68 percent of the RBT base in the country.
OnMobile's flagship product, RBT, has created a wave over the last year and the company has seen several innovations in this space. Some of the new launches in this area include RBT Handset App, RBT Lottery, RBT Touch/Non Touch Smartphone Web page, Record my Own with Karaoke and Like RBT. Other developments in RBT include Night Callertunes, Personalized Pre-RBT, Recommendation RBT, Built WAP over WIFI and RBT RRBT Integrated Model.
OnMobile recently appointed Rajiv Pancholy as its CEO. He had taken over from OnMobile co-founder Mouli Raman who had stepped down as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company earlier this month.
OnMobile Global recently sold its subsidiary VoxMobili SA, a company that offers Phonebook 2.0, Phone (News - Alert) Backup, Social Home and an SDK for syncing data, to Synchronoss Technologies Inc., for an amount of approximately $26 million in cash.
