IVR Provider Releases On-Demand Nationwide Phone Numbers

October 26, 2009

With the recent buzz about the use of Interactive Voice Response, or “IVR,” still widespread in call centers, it seems IVR companies have a more hopeful professional future than previously debated

In fact, some IVR companies still continue to dominate the telecom industry, releasing products to improve customer satisfaction as a way to remain as a toehold in the customer relationship management, or “CRM,” industry.

Specifically, IVR systems provider Angel.com has continued to stay on top of – and seemingly quite ahead of – the competition, and a new announcement by the company only solidifies this movement.

Angel.com has introduced a series of On-Demand Local Phone Numbers, the most recent enhancement to the company’s voice technology offering.

Leveraging the company’s flexible software-as-a-service-based architecture, the new feature will provide on-demand, real-time access to local area codes, which will ultimately reduce financial burdens for businesses while simultaneously enhancing caller satisfaction.

According to Don Keane (News - Alert), vice president of Marketing and Product Strategy of Angel.com, said that toll free numbers are usually associated with distant large call centers. “With local phone numbers, businesses are able to leverage their local community presence or establish a new one,” Keane said. “The On-demand Nationwide Phone Numbers offering is an example of the flexible and real-time nature of the Angel.com solution, fostering business efficiency and an improved caller experience.”

Now, with Angel.com’s new nationwide phone numbers, more than 30 major metropolitan areas, such as New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, are  immediately accessible for Angel.com customers to add to their IVR or call center applications.

With the company’s Web-based Site Builder toolkit that provides the ability to add or change numbers in the matter of seconds, local numbers can be updated with just a click of a mouse. Therefore, the new functionality of Angel.com’s IVR systems will have a smooth transition for its customer base, enabling applications to segment callers or to execute targeted marketing campaigns based on geographic region.

An additional 300 local area codes are available upon request and are accessible within days, company officials said.
