Frost & Sullivan Applauds the Unmatched Reliability and Quality of Orion Health's Population Health Management Product Line

LONDON, Sept. 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Based on its recent analysis of the population health management (PHM) solutions market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Orion Health Limited (Orion Health) with the 2016 European Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Leadership. Orion Health's all-around capabilities in PHM position the company as a one-stop provider of PHM solutions such as data acquisition, aggregation, analytics, care coordination, patient engagement, and precision medicine. For healthcare organizations that are ahead of the technology curve, it offers a long-term roadmap for leveraging PHM components to drive evidence-based personalized care for different risk groups.

Frost & Sullivan recognizes Orion Health Limited with the 2016 European Product Leadership Award.

"While most EHR vendors focus on care coordination and patient engagement, Orion Health focuses on a host of factors ranging from data acquisition and aggregation to the adoption of PHM and consulting services," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Srikanth Venkataraman. "These functions are vital for change management among healthcare providers to facilitate shifts in roles and responsibilities."

The quality of Orion Health's standalone components—such as its integration engine, analytics solution, care coordination solution and patient engagement solution—position the company to further expand its customer base in Europe. For instance, Rhapsody, its integration engine, supports existing protocols such as HL7, EDIFACT, NCPDP, and X12; emerging standards such as FHIR; and custom formats including CSV, Fixed Width, and XML. Additionally, it supports multiple operating systems (OS) including Windows, Linux, HPUX, and Solaris.

The Rhapsody platform acquires different types of data such as medication history, lab data, and claims data from disparate sources to facilitate a multidimensional analysis of patient records. Further, Orion Health employs the Amadeus Platform as its analytics solution to identify gaps in care and areas where productivity can be optimized. The actionable insights are fed into Coordinate, the care coordination solution designed to develop personalized care plans that are most effective for different risk groups of patients.

Orion Health's Engage, its patient engagement component, allows providers and payers to increase awareness among patients on the importance of being involved in healthier activities. Finally, Orion Health delivers consulting services to address change management issues that result from the transition from pay-for-volume to pay-for-value services.

"For healthcare organizations that choose to work with EHR vendors, Orion Health offers components that are usually missing from their portfolios," noted Srikanth Venkataraman. "It is a visionary vendor that recognizes that data standardization is an unattainable goal and that its solutions need to work with different data types from a wide variety of sources."

Orion Health has already won mega contracts in the nascent market in major European countries including the UK, France, and Spain. It has also demonstrated an ability to build strategic partnerships with consulting vendors for large-scale PHM.

Orion Health has designed its PHM components to work in groups or as standalone solutions in cases where healthcare providers choose to work with EHR vendors. Its various products serve an array of applications and meet customers' demand for quality, functionality, and price-performance; hence, Orion Health has ably convinced healthcare providers that PHM initiatives can be successful.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed a product with innovative features and functionality, gaining rapid acceptance in the market. The award recognizes the quality of the solution and the customer value enhancements it enables.

Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.
