Moka5's Enterprise AnyWare Looks to the Cloud

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Moka5, the leading provider of next generation end-user computing solutions, today announced new cloud enhancements to its core infrastructure - Moka5 Enterprise AnyWare - enabling the widest range of deployment options for secure, client-side container management: on-premises (on-prem), cloud, or anywhere in between.

"While there's been a lot of discussion about cloud computing and its impact on enterprise IT, most enterprise organizations aren't ready for cloud-only infrastructure management," said Dave Robbins, CEO of Moka5. "IT needs a flexible, intelligent architecture for container management that enables them to deploy wherever they need based on their requirements. These new enhancements to the Enterprise AnyWare platform enable us to support on-premises only, cloud-only, or a combination of the two. Only Moka5, with its container-based architecture, is designed from the ground up to meet the challenging requirements of enterprise client management including distributing Windows and applications to users all over the world. We're proud to say that these enhancements are the first of many you'll be hearing from us over the course of the next 18 months."

Today's Enterprise IT organization has to manage technology diversity in ways unimaginable just five years ago - multiple clients (PCs, Macs, tablets, smartphones), heterogeneous workforce (salaried, contractor), multiple operating contexts (local, remote, mobile), for both corporate and personal assets. Moka5 Enterprise AnyWare delivers the core end-user computing management and security functions IT needs for today's highly dynamic and mobile computing landscape via a unified and distributed architecture centrally managed by a common console. Moreover, Moka5 delivers the performance, productivity, and privacy that end-users demand, even in low-to-no bandwidth environments and regardless of device ownership status.

For example, support for Amazon S3 replicas enables customers to keep their management infrastructure on-premises, while using Amazon S3 to store and distribute corporate workspaces out to employees and contractors. With this approach, an enterprise with a preference for the control that on-prem provides can keep their management server and database local, while using the cloud to help with geographical reach issues. Meanwhile, automation of new tenant creation and configuration enables service providers to deliver Moka5 as a managed, hosted service in a more cost-efficient way. And, our Active Directoy Extender enables enterprises to host Moka5 infrastructure in the cloud, while still leveraging existing on-premises investments (in this case, their existing AD deployment). Customers don't have to set up Active Directory in the cloud in order to realize the benefits of cloud deployment.

In addition to the specific technology enhancements, Moka5 is also announcing a new partnership with ControlFusion, which is focused on deploying, managing, and optimizing Moka5 as a fully hosted, managed cloud-based service. ControlFusion joins existing partners Faktor11 in Canada, and BizCarta, at the forefront of cloud-based IT infrastructure management.

"We're excited about our growing partnership with Moka5 and the continued enhancements to the multi-tenant platform for service providers," said Dan Atkinson, CEO of ControlFusion. "Our cloud-based Moka5 offering makes it easy for our clients to test the platform and quickly move into production before making a significant financial investment."

Moka5 Enterprise AnyWare: Benefits in the Cloud and Beyond

Flexibility - Realistically most companies are not yet hosting their IT infrastructure in the cloud, but many will want to transition or use a hybrid model that includes on-prem and cloud. Using Enterprise AnyWare, IT can now allocate client management resources between cloud and data center as needed - whether for performance, cost reduction, or to simplify management of any device requiring access to sensitive corporate information over any network.

Manageability - Enterprise AnyWare with cloud support enables IT to bring large estates of assets under management quickly without increased overhead in their data centers or overlaying additional infrastructure on top of their existing management systems.

User Experience - Enterprise AnyWare is the ultimate platform architecture for today's enterprise client computing providing comprehensive container management for the broadest cross section of use cases. Only Moka5 keeps Enterprise data safe and employees productive even without network connectivity.

Security - Infrastructure must be secure no matter where it is installed. Enterprise AnyWare separates and encrypts communications to the secure containers (policy changes, software updates, security patches) from the business traffic that takes place inside the container. Regular business traffic utilizes the organization's existing security capabilities, such as a VPN and never puts an untrusted host computer on the network.

Installed in some of the most demanding IT environments worldwide, Moka5 is solving critical challenges for BYOD/PC, CYOD/PC, contractor management, mobile workforce management, simplified endpoint management and cybersecurity initiatives.

Clifford Chance, one of the largest international law firms, has deployed Moka5 to over two hundred employees, providing them access to any information they need from their personal laptops, from anywhere, without having to take special steps to secure that information themselves. The feedback regularly received regarding this deployment, "Simply love it.
