Yumi Ice Cream Company Empowers Territory Sales Managers with iPad-based Ordering Software from Apacheta

MEDIA, Pa. --(Business Wire)--

Apacheta, a leading provider of mobile workforce management software, and IntegraSys, a leading provider of route accounting software for distribution companies, announced today that Yumi Ice Cream Company has rolled out a joint solution from both companies providing 50 Territory Sales Managers with iPad-based ordering software. Yumi distributes pre-packaged ice cream, frozen foods, baked goods and beverage products to over 15,000 stores across Texas, including some of America's favorite brands such as Nestlé, Häagen Dazs, Stouffer's Frozen Food, Hostess Brand Baked Snacks, and Campbell's V8, Fusion and Splash Beverages.

IntegraSys embeds Apacheta RouteACE™ mobile sales and delivery software with their DSD Manager® route accounting software to deliver a seamless integrated solution. Yumi recently looked to add more effective sales tools on a modern tablet device, allowing its Territory Sales Managers (TSMs) to leave behind its binders of printed price lists, planograms, and product information. In addition to providing TSMs with access to email, Google Maps, and documents via Box (News - Alert)® cloud storage, the company wanted to move its ordering capabilities to the iPad Mini device.

Using the new iPad ordering application, Yumi TSMs can now easily view daily routes, access customer information, receive alerts, scan items, view sales histories, collect electronic signatures, and conduct end-of-day settlements. With the larger screen and intuitive user interface, TSMs are able to move through their mobile workflows more quickly, allowing them to visit more customers per day, while creating a favorable impression on the customer.

"The new ordering application is so easy to use that our TSMs are spending less time on the device and more time with customers to build better relationships," said Sam Chen, Yumi IT Manager. "They enjoy using a tablet to showcase products and planograms without having to run to their car to get a binder or call their boss to get answers to questions."

In fact, sales managers who used to spend 80 percent of their time fielding questions from TSMs have seen this amount drop to 20 percent, enabling managers to spend more time developing strategic sales plans. Switching to the iPad Mini has also decreased Yumi's investment in capital and time, taking advantage of less expensive hardware that is stable and reliable to maximize up-time and minimize the number of replacement units kept in stock.
