Human Capital Management

By Paula Bernier, Executive Editor, TMC  |  August 17, 2015

The product category termed human capital management, or talent management, is broad. It can include anything from tools and services that help businesses in recruitment to solutions that address employee motivation and productivity to software that assists in the management and information distribution relating to worker benefits such as health care insurance.

International Data Corp. in April released its 2015 MarketScape report on the worldwide talent management market. It indicates that human resources buyers said they believe social technology is a growing consideration, but that other factors are higher up the value chain in their minds. Lisa Rowan, research vice president of HR, Talent, and Learning Strategies for IDC (News - Alert), said "mobile, cloud, and analytics are still seen as more important than social technology by HR executives. As a result uptake of social technology in talent is slow with an aggregate average penetration rate of just 15 to 20 percent."

Here’s a look at what some companies in the human capital management space bring to the table.

CompensationXL

CompensationXL provides the compensation team with a tool that is so configurable that it will truly automate and improve your current process without requiring a process overhaul. The solution shrinks cycle time and eliminates the administrative burden associated with managing merit increases, allocating short and long term incentives, and producing total compensation statements.

DATIS HR Cloud

This company’s human capital management software is built on a foundation of position control. This ensures that your organization has no un-budgeted employees. Each new employee must be placed in an approved to fill position. Now you can budget at the position and full-time equivalent level, which is especially important for nonprofits.
