There are more than 6,500 languages in the world, but only four percent, or 275 are spoken by 96 percent of the population. But in actuality there are about 100 languages that are officially spoken by enough people and used by governments to warrant translation. With the world becoming increasingly more connected, being able to translate content in real-time is a huge benefit. The new integration of Lionbridge's translation platform with Episerver Digital Experience Cloud will allow marketers to manage multilingual content in the cloud or on premises.
The available technology today makes it possible for companies of all sizes to have a global reach. A small business can establish a local presence in many cities around the world using cloud services such as Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Communications as a Service (CaaS) and more.
Episerver Digital Experience Cloud provides end-to-end cloud solutions for creating, managing and optimizing digital experiences along with powerful content management, digital commerce, and enterprise search. Being able to translate all of the content for its customers as they expand their market share in different parts the world, can be a great value added service for the company. The integration is going to be made possible with the Lionbridge connector, which will simplify the way organizations will be able to manage their translation.
The Lionbridge translation platform uses cloud technology and global talent of more than 100,000 workers to deliver translations, online marketing, content management and application testing solutions to ensure the products of brands have the same consistency level globally. The company's platforms is currently used by more than 800 global brands to increase their international market share and effectively engage their customers.
"With the Lionbridge connector for Episerver Digital Experience Cloud we have created a seamless experience for Episerver clients to manage translation "Lionbridge's flexible solution can address even the most complex Episerver deployments," said Marc Osofsky, SVP and General Manager of Global Offerings, Lionbridge.
The integrated connector module automates the content between Epicenter Digital Experience Cloud users and Lionbridge. Whenever there is a language that needs to be translated, users can now optimize their translation workflows and get rid of time consuming and costly manual processes, while lowering error rates and increasing content reuse across multiple markets.
Additionally, the integration will increase translation quality, accelerate publishing cycles across markets to maintain brand integrity and use dashboard tracking and alerts to monitor current progress to avoid bottlenecks and mitigate risks.
"With specific knowledge of translation and globalization, Lionbridge and its Episerver connector are contributing to helping our customers support true digital transformation in their marketing initiatives," said Karen Chastain, Director of Strategic Alliances and Partners, Episerver.
Real-time computer translation, a la Star Trek, is one of the Holy Grails of tech. We are not there yet, but companies that combine human and machine translation, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning and cloud services are getting closer. The new collaboration between Lionbridge and Episerver is using many of these technologies to come as close as to what Gene Rodenberry had in mind.
