AMP Agency Combines DX Division with SmallTalk

By Luke Bellos August 04, 2021

Marketing firm AMP Agency has announced SmallTalk, a digital experience company that was sold to AMP earlier this year, will now be combined with the company’s own digital experience team to form AMPXD. The new group will focus on delivering a comprehensive digital experience strategy for high-profile brands.

San Francisco-based SmallTalk caught the eye of AMP after a successful run over the last few years, as well as being included in Adweek’s Fastest Growing Agencies List of 2019. The company has worked with major clients including Facebook and VMWare, assisting in areas like digital production design and website enhancements.

"Designing and engineering creative, complex digital experiences is our specialty and SmallTalk truly feels we fit neatly into AMP's wheelhouse of work—it's a complementary relationship that felt right from our earliest conversations," said Robert Balmaseda, founder and managing director of SmallTalk Agency. "We pride ourselves on serving immediate client needs, while offering progressive and extended solutions that might not have been considered within a short-term goal."

The focus on improving digital experiences has grown dramatically in recent years, but has been especially important over the last 16 months as many customers deal with the lingering effects of the pandemic. Not only that, increasing global competition is forcing brands to prioritize customer needs, in order to retain business and establish brand loyalty.

"As our clients' business challenges become more and more complex, it's crucial that we demonstrate our expertise across the entire customer experience," said AMP Agency SVP, General Manager Michael Mish. "With SmallTalk's proven expertise in the space, this combination expands and enhances our experience design offer.
