Gaming Laboratories International Announces New Hire for Customer Service

By Tracey E. Schelmetic April 06, 2022

In the electronic gaming and lottery business, certification is vital to ensure that all gaming products meet region’s stringent standards and local technical standards. Gaming Laboratories International (GIA) provides the gaming industry with a platform for testing and certification services for electronic gaming and lottery products. The firm, which is based in Lakewood, New Jersey, offers services and tools for regulators, suppliers and operators. It has laboratory locations on six continents.

The company recently named Felix Lai as its new Customer Service Representative for GLI Asia. Lai has more than 10 years’ experience in working in the gaming industry in Macau and the Philippines, both in the casino cage and on the casino floor. He has also worked with slot developers and non-gaming companies in online and offline enterprises. Lai previously served as Manager of Business Development for Red Point Technology and was Manager of Business Development for slot and system developer Solis Group. Prior to joining the supplier side, he was Manager of Business Development for the business, retail and catering sides of Megstar International, and Assistant Manager of Business Development for Suncity Group.

In his new position, he will be based in Macau.

According to GIA, Lai, who has a “rich and diverse work history,” will be “helping [clients] navigate the evolving future of gaming by taking full advantage of GLI’s exclusive integrated approach to compliance.”

“We are very pleased that Lai will be joining the team as Client Services Representative of GLI Asia,” said GLI Asia Limited general manager Marina Wong, in a statement. “We welcome his broad experience and unique skillset specific to the Asian region, which we believe will be very valuable for our company.

Earlier this year, GLI was awarded a certificate of recognition from the South African National Accreditation System (SANAS) for maintaining its continuous accreditation for more than 20 years. SANAS is South Africa’s sole national accreditation body for performance testing.
