At a Total Valuation of $1.15B, DevRev's Quest to Operationalize AI in CX Continues

By Alex Passett August 09, 2024

TGIF, everybody!

As many of our readers know, we cover news on a variety of websites; MSP Today, IoT Evolution World, Cloud Computing and GenAI Today, to name a few. The story you’re about to read would surely also be suitable for GenAI, but you’ll quickly see why we’ve published it here instead.

So, let’s talk about DevRev.

DevRev is a startup that harnesses AI for customer experience (CX) solutions. On a mission to connect what the company defines as “connection makers” (Devs) to customers today (Rev), DevRev operates with a “product-thinking” and customer-centricity mindset. Thus, in the name of keeping things simpler for customers (while fine-tuning the power of AI for innovators today), DevRev helps deliver exceptional CXs via GenAI-powered in-app search and live chat – and with no add-ons or years of coding expertise required, either. DevRev believes impactful customer support should include real-time adaptation and personalization along the way; that’s why it encourage operations leads to “hyperconverge your tech stack and empower users to deliver unparalleled customer support with a modern, AI-first platform.”

The long-story-short of it? CX teams can boost their collaboration capabilities and overall efficiency with DevRev’s cloud-based platform for up-to-speed customer support and software development.

And clearly, folks have taken notice of what DevRev brings to the table; in fact – announced just earlier this morning – Khosla Ventures has backed DevRev in a Series A funding round where the AI/CX startup raised $100.8 million. With Khosla’s support (and support from other investors), DevRev’s now boasts a $1.15 billion valuation.

In an interview with Bloomberg, DevRev CEO Dheeraj Pandey expressed how the startup’s technology will help make workers more efficient.

“Design will play a key role in continuing to build trust with end users, who have inevitably begun to witness the AI hype cycle of broken prototypes and bespoke one-off GPT wrappers that are inherently unmaintainable and not secure,” Pandey explained. “Trust is built by delivering fast, accurate, and personalized AI solutions. In just under four years, we’ve built an amazing multi-region platform to deliver enterprise-level security, combined with an experience that is intuitive to use.”

Ideally, DevRev continues on this path to transform CX experiences for service staff, support engineers, product managers and software developers, alike. By analyzing both structured and unstructured data (e.g. customer conversations, frequent customer searches, session analytics, etc.), DevRev’s simplified stack can even co-exist with solutions such as Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud, Intercom, and Atlassian Jira.
