Happy Tuesday, y’all.
It wasn’t too long ago – it was also on a Tuesday, fun fact – that we reported on Hivelocity, a renowned provider of high-performance VPS, dedicated services, cloud object storage and server management solutions. In our coverage over on Cloud Computing, we described how Hivelocity had previously been acquired by Colohouse in order to reinforce the teams’ collective commitment to delivering top-tier infrastructure services. After all, Colohouse’s managed data center and cloud offerings (paired with key edge locations and reliable connectivity capabilities) were already equipping customers with requisite resources for confidently scaling cloud operations in secure, cost-conscious ways. Now with Hivelocity, the opportunities are plentiful for further scaling workloads and expanding next-gen private cloud capabilities. (Read that full story here.)
So, what are the deeper-dive details on what Hivelocity’s got cooking?
It’s simple. See below:
Hivelocity’s private cloud offering – powered by VMware, to boot – leverages the latest in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Cloud Director, and NSX architectures. Why? Namely, to provide fully integrated backup, restore and disaster recovery measures to businesses in need.
According to its official announcement, Hivelocity stated that this “utilizes our purpose-built infrastructure for high-performance private computing to address rapid security-centric go-to-market needs with the capacity required to control cloud costs and navigate VMware/Broadcom licensing changes.”
And in this vein of infrastructure, Hivelocity helps to optimize spend therein; on cost, performance and security, enabling customers with:
- Systems built on the latest in Dell server and Intel chip model technologies
- Quick and secure backup solutions from Veeam that help minimize downtime
- myVelocity portal with self-service capabilities
- Fast and scalable storage, multi-site replication and more
“As businesses seek to optimize operations while maintaining the necessary capacity and functionality for mission-critical workloads, we are presenting a compelling option,” explained Scott Fuhriman, Hivelocity’s CTO. “Hivelocity has developed a platform tailored to customers’ needs. And now, whether it's navigating VMware licensing changes, refreshing outdated hardware, upgrading to modern architectures or requiring instant access to available capacity, Hivelocity’s private cloud solution and expert team are continuously ready to deliver."
Adding to Fuhriman’s statement, Hivelocity CEO Jeremy Pease provided additional commentary.
“We are excited to offer enterprise-grade, advanced private cloud capabilities,” Pease said. “This service is another impactful infrastructure solution that is being seamlessly integrated with our extensive bare metal cloud and our broader data center and network footprint. This integration allows customers to manage their private cloud environments effortlessly, with comprehensive tools and support at their fingertips. It gives them the ability to deploy applications on the right infrastructure optimized for their needs.”
